Welcome To The Official Web Site For The Middlesex County Section Skywarn Web Site.
We Operate Out Of The Mount Holly Office Of The National Weather Service.
For Those Who Are Unaware, Skywarn Is A Group Of Trained Volunteers Who Are Specialy Trained To Recognize Hazardous Weather Situations. We Spot Severe Weather Such As Tornados, Thunderstorms, Blizzard Conditions, Snow, Floods, Rain, Hurricaines, Etc.
It Is Our Job To Report The Situation That Is Affecting Our Area And May Affect Another Area To The National Weather Service.
Middlesex County, New Jersey, Located In Central New Jersey Is One Of 40 Counties Covered Under The Mount Holly Office.
Although Many Of Skywarn Spotters Are Amature Radio (Ham) Operators, A Large Portion Of Spotters An Non - Hams. Amature Radio Is An Important Part Of Our Operation To Successfully Relay Information. Other Methods Are Used To Relay Information Such As Telephone, Fax, Internet.
Skywarn Is Open To Everyone, Especialy Wether Enthusiasts And People Wishing To Help Their Community.
As With Any Volunteer Organiztion, Volunteers Are Always Needed.
Training Sessions Are Held Every March, Around Skywarn Recogniton Week.
