As Of October 4, 2001, The Sewaren Boat Launch Has Reopened. However, It Will Only Be Open From The Hours Of 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Hours Will Be Strictly Enforced By.

- Sewaren Bay Closed Down Due To Terrorist Attacks. -
Due To The Terrorist Attacks 25 Miles Away At The World Trade Center, The United States Coast Guard Has Litterally Shut Down The Arthur Kill To All Boaters. Most Visibly, Woodbridge Township Placed Concrete Blocks At The Foot Of The Township Boat Launch, The End Of Ferry Street. Also, Smith's Creek Is Being Patroled By Coast Guard Cutters.
No Boat, Unless Commercial, Is Allowed To Move Out Of Their Docks.
What This Means Is That No Boats Can Go Out And Fishing Season Is Over! This Will Last Indefinatelly, Until Federal Government Authorities Feel It Is Safe That Small Boats Will Not Be Used As Equipment For Terrorists.
On A Strange Note, Perth Amboy Marina, Less Than 2 Miles Away Is Open So Far.
