ABC Channel 7 Eyewitness News Exposes Lacking Security At Tank Farm & Impound Yard.
The Investigators after getting a tip from A Sewaren Resident, Came down To Shell/Motiva's Tank Farm on Arbor Street to Uncover How Easy it would be for a Terrorist to gain Entry into the facility. A terrorism Expert was brought in and drove down the road to the impound yard. He stated that he was surprised how "inadequate the security was and that it would be an easy target due to it's openess." The reporters emphasized about the petroleum industry being a top target of the Al Qeda terror group. Local residents were Questioned and were outraged.
To make matters worse, The Woodbridge Township Impound yard at the end of the road, In the middle of the Arbor Street Tank Farm was shown how open it is to the Public. People who want to retreive their vehicles go through the yard to pick them up. It was also shown how easy it can be for a terrorist to pose as someone wanting to pick up a car. Township officials were caught off guard regarding this situation, everyone from the Woodbridge Police who run the impound yard, to The Mayor's office. Jim Mcgreevey, former Woodbridge Mayor, who implimented the Tow yard, Now NJ. Governor was even confronted. Police contend that there is added security with the tow yard, due to survailence cameras. However, the opinion is that the Impound yard should not be open to the Public. Probably the biggest fear as the Reporters put it was The Tank fire in 1996, which was in the same area, was caused by lightning. Next time, A terrorist can easily bomb it. For those of you who missed it, I will add video Clips.
